Eventually, Newcombe Road Sand will replace several sand quarries that are coming to the end of their operational lives. The new quarry is estimated to have a life of 25 years and will employ up to ten team members to run operations and produce the projected 400,000 tonnes of sand each year.

At present, a 4-hectare wet-processing area has been identified with the remaining 27-hectares to be quarried under a staged approach.
